Yet another visit to Hawai'i Kai went well. Moms and I made the usual rounds in my Nissan® Frontier truck. For lunch, we ate at Panda Express®. Later, moms served Foremost® coffee and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I kept moms company until 1:30pm. Then, I drove to Koko Marina to complete my workout at the gym and shop for groceries.
This afternoon, I sat outside for quite a while on one of the concrete benches along the periphery of Koko Marina. I remembered when Koko Marina was known as the Hawai'i Kai Shopping Center (now the name of the shopping area in Kuapa Kai that has both Longs® and Safeway® anchor stores). That's when my family first moved there over 40 years ago. The shopping center was extremely small with Foodland being the largest store. The original building was circular shaped. In fact, the original structure is still there, hidden by a cheap false roof. I remember my one-and-only haircut at the long-defunct Hawai'i Kai Barber Shop. I had to pick a haircut from various drawings pasted up on the wall. Ever haircut looked the same. "That's called the 'Butch' haircut," the barber told me after I arbitrarily chose one of the drawings. I ended up going home in a fit of rage and tears. How could a kid of eleven years handle a near-bald head? Little did I know that, over 40 years later, I would be sporting the monk haircut, which is nearly the same as the "Butch."

Non-History
Can you believe that another urban nomad kind-of-a-Sunday has come to pass? Nothing out of the ordinary happened. I received the monthly "condotel" report. The dump has once gain fallen short of break-even, this time by $400 and some change. I also received my annual letter from the Social Security Administration. If I retire at age 62 years as planned, then I will tentatively receive $616 per month. A paltry sum, but I can live with it.
I was fairly fatigued all day. The Indian guy was up at 5am this morning and making all kinds of noise until he departed at 7am. At one point, he was pacing around in the second floor common area. Ever since the Indian guy purchased his new "babe magnet" automobile, he has been keeping very strange hours. Perhaps he has found a babe and is now courting her. Who knows? Who cares?
I was rather sluggish at the gym. However, I managed to complete my workout. Then, I followed my usual circuitous bus route back to Slob Manor (read: rental housing). Fortunately, I was able to procure a decent bento at Foodland in Ala Moana Center. Yes, another boring urban nomad kind-of-a-Sunday has been relegated to non-history. Is that so bad?

Same Ol' Grind (Reprise)
The urban nomad routine was executed flawlessly, not that there's much difficulty in accomplishing the tasks of an urban nomad kind-of-a-day. At the library, I completed reading Christopher Hitchens' book, "god is not Great." Otherwise, I spent the time lapsing in and out of a coma as usual. Nothing else noteworthy to report.
According to the Feedjit® Live Feed, there has been a lot of clowns looking for tawdry images of Colombian hottie Esperanza Gomez. Baby has really gained notoriety from her first hurdy-gurdy appearance. Her performance was beyond amazing. Sheesh!

Lost Treasure
Another visit to Hawai'i Kai found moms, me, and my Nissan® Frontier truck making the rounds in Koko Marina. Lunch was courtesy Zippy's. Later, moms served Foremost® coffee and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I kept moms company until 1:30pm. Then, I drove back to Koko Marina to commence my urban nomad routine. Obviously, I had to return to Slob Manor (read: rental housing) eventually. Only an urban nomad kind-of-an-evening awaits me.
In looking for more useless junk to divest, I found a bag of old coins. Lost treasure? Not exactly. None of the coins were old enough to be worth anything (i.e., little numismatic value). Evidently, I have several types of dollar coins. I also found a couple of two-dollar paper currency. I will deposit the money in my local bank just to be rid of it.
I also discovered a very old booklet titled, "Adventures of a Pebble," by Anne Stromquist that was printed in 1958 by the Chicago Natural History Museum. The booklet is 51 years old. Why did I keep it for that long? And, what should I do with it now?

Call of Colombia
Alas, I was back to the urban nomad routine again. Only a jaunt to the Institute of Hair Design was out of the ordinary. Naturally, I restored my monk haircut. I was rather fatigued for most of the day. Apparently, the residual caffeine from the coffee that I consumed yesterday kept me awake for most of last night.
When I returned to Slob Manor (read: rental housing) this afternoon, I noticed that there were several flies and mosquitoes in the house. Naturally, they all ended up in my squalid room. What else is new? By the way, the second floor common area smells really bad. There are several packages of rotting fast food lying around. The extreme heat of the past few days have acted as a catalyst to the process of food (i.e., meat and poultry) decay.
As to be expected, I have not divested my copy of the NLT (New Living Translation) Study Bible. It is still lying around in my squalid room. I have debated with myself for days about the issue. In the end, I keep deferring my decision. There really shouldn't be any decision necessary since I have already determined that the credibility of the Good Book is rather low. The NLT Study Bible is better off stacked on a shelf in the library where unsuspecting patrons can use it.
The furor on the Pure T 'n A site is the "torrent" of the first hurdy-gurdy video of Colombian hottie Esperanza Gomez from the DVD, "South Beach Cruisin' 3" (Justin Slayer Productions). Danno (in Colombia) had mentioned that there are myriad Latino hotties to be appreciated. He apparently wasn't kidding. Should the ol' lavahead consider moving to Colombia?

Back to Liliha
My Nissan® Frontier truck and I were on our way to Hawai'i Kai at 8am this morning. Moms had an appointment with the opthamologist in Liliha. We arrived with plenty of time. Naturally, I had to search for street parking, which is a nightmare in Liliha. Once again, moms was somehow bypassed in the queue. I watched as every patient that came in before and after moms departed. Some of the staff even went to lunch. I even had time to walk to the Foodland on School Street to purchase a cup of coffee. Moms was finally done around noon, a full two hours after our arrival. I urged moms to find another doctor, but moms is reluctant to do so.
On the way back, moms and I stopped at Foodland in Koko Marina to purchase a couple of bento for lunch. Later, moms served Foremost® coffee and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I kept moms company until 2pm. Then, I went about my usual urban nomad routine.
Incidentally, the cup of coffee that I consumed earlier had a profound effect on me at the gym. My heart rate was somewhat elevated during my weight workout, which I found to be distressing. However, I had a lot of energy and was able to complete all of my sets with vigor. No doubt, that is why I see many of gym meatheads drinking high-caffeine "energy" beverages prior to engaging in their workouts. My cardio workout probably dissipated what was left of the toxic caffeine in my bloodstream. I am just glad that I am no longer addicted to caffeine.

What Do I Know?
The days are becoming much more difficult for me to tolerate. After all, I live in the empire. Unfortunately, I am not one of the privileged empire citizens. Rather, I am a member of the scum class. With the economy is full swing toward a recovery of the "bubble" status quo, I find myself being left behind again. I am barely scraping by on nothing, but I am privy to witness the masses of consumers who have returned to rampant spending with a vengeance. Where are they getting the money?
At the library, I reluctantly resumed reading Christopher Hitchen's book, "god is not Great." Frankly, I am now enjoying the book. Too many of his points are valid. And, truthfully, I share his disdain for organized religion and false religious doctrine. Oh well.
Ever since I have become an agnostic, an agnostic creationist, by default, I have had severe bouts of disillusionment. I have also experienced both existential and metaphysical crises. Not a day goes by without a sense of loss and befuddlement. The whole issue is an intellectual conundrum, not an emotional one. At this point in time, I have no way to reconcile my state of mind. An atheistic evolutionist like Hitchens has already accepted that humans have been left to their own devices. There is no reason to wallow in discord over the human tragedy. After all, that's part of evolution. There are no real philosophical questions pertaining to life. Humans are simply animals. I suppose that I was expecting human life to be something more than it is. Alas, what do I know?

Not Ready for Prime Time
Another visit to Hawai'i Kai went well. Moms and I made the usual rounds with lunch courtesy Zippy's. Later, moms served fresh cinnamon rolls and Foremost® coffee ice cream for dessert. I kept moms company until 1:30pm. Then, I embarked on the usual routine for the rest of the afternoon. Obviously, I had to eventually return to the dump known as Slob Manor (read: rental housing).
Earlier, I checked my cell phone voicemail for the first time in a long time. There were three messages from Ralph, a dean at HCC. He had a couple of classes that were available for me to facilitate. Sadly, I only heard the messages after-the-fact. In any case, I am not ready to return to wage slavery. Although I need money to survive, I am just not prepared to engage in gainful employment. I don't even possess the proper wage slave attire. Sheesh!

Why Bother?
Another urban nomad kind-of-a-Sunday ... slightly out of the ordinary. I received mail from Capital Pacific Group. I am supposed to submit some documentation including copies of the stock certificate which is not in my possession. Well, I assume that the case is now closed. At the gym, I was able to catch a microsecond glimpse of the hottie gym trainer just as I arrived. Baby was looking mighty fine. Later, I was able to procure a Yakitori Bento at Foodland in Ala Moana Center.
The Route 24 bus arrived earlier than usual because there was a different driver. When the bus was passing through Waikiki, two young hotties boarded. They were wearing skimpy bikini tops and extremely tight and skimpy shorts (most likely hiding skimpy thong bottoms). They sat in the back of the bus along with me. I was the sole passenger in the back of the bus. The smell of coconut suntan lotion was overbearing. Several guys kept looking back to catch a glimpse of the babes. The two babes kept comparing tans and tugging on their skimpy tops. Little was left to the imagination. After we passed the Diamond Head stop and Kahala Mall, I began to wonder where the two hotties were going. Certainly they weren't planning to visit Upper Aina Haina.
I pulled the cord to signal a stop at the Aina Haina Shopping Center. The babes then asked me for directions to the beach. Essentially breaking my vow of silence, I told them that they had to transfer to another bus. They alighted at the Aina Haina Shopping Center with me. They told me that they wanted to go to a beach where they could sunbathe topless. Ho boy! I gave them directions to the bus stop across the street so that they could board either the Route 22 or 23 bus. The babes had an unusual accent, but I was not able to ascertain its origin. The two hotties thanked me and departed.
The rest of the day was quite mundane in comparison to my chance encounter with the two gorgeous young hotties. The dreaded laundry chores, my squalid room in Slob Manor (read: rental housing), the ant farm residing in my Nissan® Frontier truck ... oh, the horror!
Last night, I installed KompoZer, a WYSIWYG editor for Web pages. I also copied the journal archive to my computer desktop. I played around with both KompoZer and Screem, but I am not certain whether I want to go through the trouble of revamping the old journal. Why bother? Anyway, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling both applications until I settled for Screem.

Same Ol' Grind
Back to the same ol' grind ... another urban nomad kind-of-a-day. There's absolutely nothing new to report. I followed the same old routine. Nothing exciting occurred. None of my remaining useless possessions were divested. I spoke to absolutely no one. And, the ant farm is still thriving somewhere in the unibody of my Nissan® Frontier truck.
When all else fails, then the discussion must turn to Ubuntu Linux. Actually, there's nothing new to report. I have taken to disabling more and more of the various "bells and whistles" of the operating system. Why didn't I just opt for Xfce instead of Gnome®? Alas, Ubuntu has served me well, even though I have encountered a few problems. I am still searching for new applications to install that will give me something to do while I am locked in my squalid room at Slob Manor (read: rental housing) all evening. Sheesh!
